The Barnes and Noble bookstore is set

Cheap Barnes and Noble Gift Card The Barnes & Noble bookstore at the Power Plant in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is set to close Saturday as the company says the location is “extraordinarily expensive to run and to maintain.”

"Barnes & Noble will permanently close on August 29 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and decreased visitation downtown," the statement says. "The bookstore which occupied the space for 22 years performed extremely well prior to the pandemic despite an abundance of store closures nationwide. Significant rent concessions were offered by the landlord to stay however the tenant declined."

Because of this they are closing the location to focus resources on improving other bookstores in the area and around the country as well as invest in new stores — one of which is now in Rockville Maryland.

The city has seen a number of businesses shut down since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic as people look to limit their outside exposure to the virus.

The company declined to say how many employees work at the Inner Harbor store but said it would try to transfer as many as possible to other stores in the area.
